It's 3 a.m. and the phone is ringing in the White House. Who do you want to answering the phone. It's that famous Clinton ad that ran during the 2008 presidential primary. A few days ago we found out what happens when Trump answers the phone at 3 a.m. It's the president of Turkey calling to let him know that he was attacking the Kurds in Syria and wanted us to remove our troops from Syria. We all know what happened after that phone call.
Since the early days of the president’s transition, the Trump team has been especially thorough in vetting job applicants for their loyalty to the president and his policies, with their social-media profiles and writings scoured for anti-Trump posts.
Jeremiah Jack was among the first settlers on the Potomac River where they were forted. Jeremiah Jack had been born in Ireland in 1689 and married Anne Swaine from Yorkshire , England on July 17th, 1724 in the First Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia. I believe they both from previous marriages but something could have happened to them on the voyage to the new world. In 1739 he was granted 175 acre of land by George II of England on which the town of Williamsport, Maryland was later built. He would go on to get another land grant from George Washington for his participation in the French and Indian War.
I am getting ready to write my 50th blog since it was launch 2 months ago. Most of the topics have been about politics since that seems to be dominating the news cycle every day, but I have submitted other categories. On this blog I have decided to make it about the other 49 blogs.
We are not the only place in the world that has suffered from the decrease in democracy. Countries all around the world has retreated away from democracy.
Every impeachment poses two different set of questions for the House and Senate to consider. 1) There are constitutional questions: Are impeachment and conviction justified? 2) There are political questions: Are impeachment and conviction possible?
I am releasing my previous blog regarding Maskirovka - The Russian art of disinformation. The Trump/Ukraine connection that broke the news cycle last week really has connection with Russia and Paul Manafort leading back to when Trump first announced his presidential campaign. I will be provided a history of Manafort's involvement with different regimes since the 1980's, including Mobutu Seese Seko of Zaire, Siad Barre of Somalia, President Ferdinand Marcos of the Phillipines, Jonas Savimbi, the leader of the Angolan rebel group UNITA, Lebanese arms-dealer Abdul Rahman al-Assir, just to name a few, but first lets talks about the Russia Ukraine time line that, I believe, lead up to the events we are witnessing today.
Donald Trump has decided to focus his attention of the homeless population of California. Not New York, Florida, or Texas, but in a state that he lost the popular vote of over 3 million, and had seen a steady increase of democratic strong holds. I guess demoralizing immigrants wasn’t horrendous enough, he figures he’ll attack another group to make a problem that never existed. He is using the plight of the homeless population as a political ploy to demonize democrats and pretend that he has the answer to solve the problem.
The problem that the democrats face in order to win back the White House is in their type of messaging. They have to change their messaging from one of anger, despair, and victim to one of morality, civility, hope, accomplishments, and ethical criticism. They need to shout out that American has always been great, and will never bow down to those who are out to destroy it. Authoritarians are on the rise both here at home and around the world. The electorates are being seduced by the ultra-right extremists, and to fight back, mainstream politicians and political campaigns need to grasp the causes that sows the seeds of popular discontent and to rebuild democracy’s moral foundation.
Give me a scandal a day dear, one everyday of the year.
How I yearn for a scandal a day dear, it’s the only thing we ever hear.
